How to find contradictions across depositions

You already read the depositions. The problem is usually the fact that shows up in more than one of them, and the four PDFs you have open at once while you try to put page and line on both sides.

Name the fact, not the witness list

Notice, prior injuries, who was in the aisle: those threads get tested more than once, often by more than one lawyer, on more than one day. Impeachment prep is finding where the answers do not match, then putting page and line on both sides before you stand up. That is a different job from re-reading a single transcript from page one.

Pasting three transcripts into ChatGPT and hoping the context window holds is not that job. The answer moves when the prompt moves, and it is hard to cite. You need the selected depositions compared on the question you actually asked, with a cite you can open on each side.

Use the depositions already on the matter

Cross-deposition is a question mode on the same record as the cited summary and Case Analysis. You do not re-upload to turn it on. Select the witnesses, ask in plain English, and get cites back. It is $10 a question, the same as cited Q&A.

It can flag a witness contradicting themselves. It is built for the multi-witness file, where the same fact is tested across the docket and you would otherwise be flipping PDFs to reconstruct the conflict by hand.

Cross-deposition on a notice question, with cites from two witnesses. Open each cite in the transcript before you treat it as impeachment material. You can try the same layout on the live demo.

Then open the transcript

Every claim comes with a page-and-line cite. Open the transcript and check. This is not live courtroom audio analysis, and it is not a replacement for reading the transcript before you stand up. It is a way to find the conflict and land on the page, so the time you spend reading is on the lines that actually matter.

LawLM starts when the transcript exists. Audio-only still belongs with a court reporter, or a transcription tool such as Sonix.

See it on a public matter

The live demo is a public file. Open Chat, pick Cross-deposition, and ask where the witnesses disagree about notice. Confirm the cite on the page before you lean on it. When you want to run it on your own transcripts, sign up. Free credits for four deposition packages, or mix with Q&A. No credit card.
